NCS USBCA President’s Update

NC State Bowlers:

By now all associations should have received their first mailing from us which detailed a lot of information.  I will be having your association contact representative contact you in by early December to make sure you have received this mailing and that you understand everything that is in the mailing.  I am currently working on some new enhancements to our website and hope that you will find it more user friendly and more informational.

All NC bowling centers, and Association Managers should have also received entry forms for the 2012 Open and Women Championship Tournaments.  Tournament Manager is Pris Hamilton and she has already started getting entries so you need to get your entries in early to get the dates you desire.  We look forward to seeing you in Gastonia, NC.

Welcome to our new state board members are Anna Groce (youth director), Margaret Olney, and Willie Williams.  We are glad they are willing to volunteer their time to our state board.  Non board committee members this year are:  Richard Beeson, Vickie Beeson, Cleo Denny, Phebe Eason, Wanda Glenn, Crystal Hall, Tonya Harris, Melody Jackson, Carol Pilgrim, Sylvia Rebenson, Tanji Robinson, and Barbara Williams. I look forward to working with all of you.

This season has gotten off to a slow start due to many challenges within our state association, but we are on track now and should be able to maintain for the duration of the season.

I would like to know if you are interested in having a state board member attend your annual meeting this season.  I am hoping that some of the associations will allow us an opportunity to visit your association merely to show we have an interest in supporting you in any way possible.  It will also be good to meet with your association contact to know exactly who they are.  I will try to make as many as I possibly can, but we need the invitation.

Our annual meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites in Cary, NC and hosted by the Capital Area USBCA.  We thank them for taking an interest in hosting this event for us.  I am sure you will enjoy the hotel and its facilities.  One of the great aspects of this hotel is that our delegates who stay at the Embassy Suites will enjoy a full course breakfast free of charge with their lodging stay.  We hope you will book your reservations with this hotel as we have received a great price for this event.  We also must meet the contract allowance to save us costs on our meeting rooms and other incentives we can bestow to our delegates.  So, I ask that you support us and lodge with us at Embassy Suites.  Be sure to visit our website and view our calendar for upcoming events and news.

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas as well as a Happy and prosperous New Year!!!!  My next message will appear after the New Year has arrived.  See you on the lanes soon!
